The seventh edition of the European Commission’s flagship research and innovation event will take place on 10 and 11 November 2026 in Brussels and online.

It brings together policymakers, researchers, innovators, business leaders and representatives of civil society to debate how research and innovation can strengthen Europe’s competitiveness, resilience and technological sovereignty.

Taking place at a decisive moment for Europe’s research and innovation agenda, the 2026 edition will explore how Europe can:

  • safeguard freedom of scientific research;
  • attract, retain and support research talent;
  • increase investment in research and development;
  • turn research excellence into technological leadership;
  • help innovative companies start and scale up;
  • strengthen research and technology infrastructures;
  • deepen open and secure international cooperation;
  • better engage citizens with science; and
  • align European and national research policies and investments.

Across two days, participants will be able to join high-level policy discussions, interactive breakout sessions, networking opportunities, award ceremonies and dedicated exchanges with EU Science Counselors from around the world.

The event will be opened by Ekaterina Zaharieva, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation.

The detailed programme and speaker line-up will be published soon.
