The European Commission will introduce a formal proposal for a legal status for European Universities alliances, in the last quarter of next year, according to its 2027 work programme.
To do so, it will amend the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation regulation, which is designed to make cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation easier.
