The European Commission has selected 20 new European Universities alliances under the 2026 Erasmus+ European Universities call to fund their activities until the next multiannual financial framework (MFF).

With this latest selection, the European Universities initiative now supports 65 alliances across Europe.

€145,6 million for the selected alliances

The 20 selected alliances bring together 190 higher education institutions and will receive support to mainstream and upscale their activities.

Amongst them, one previous Seal of Excellence holder will now receive funding as an European Universities alliance.

The 2026 Erasmus + call has a total budget of €145.6 million. Each of the selected alliances will receive up to €7.2 million in bridge funding over 2 years, with activities starting in autumn-winter 2026.
