FAO and the Politecnico di Milano are strengthening their collaboration in the field of digital technologies applied to agriculture. The two institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on the development and application of Geospatial Information Technologies (Geospatial IT) and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI), with the goal of supporting the sustainable transformation of agri-food systems and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
The agreement combines FAO’s global mandate with the scientific expertise of the Politecnico di Milano to strengthen agricultural planning, territorial monitoring and decision-making processes, with a focus on food security, natural resource management and climate resilience.
