oday, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation (DG RTD) published its updated organisational chart, including some restructuring of units.
Significantly, the previous Directorate F for International Cooperation has been dissolved, and its corresponding Units have undergone restructuring. These units, with a geographic focus on Europe & Americas (Unit 03, previosly F1) and Asia, Pacific, Africa & The Middle East (Unit 04, previously F2) are now under direct supervision of Deputy Director-General Signe Ratso, responsible for Innovation, Prosperity & International Cooperation. Their mandates have been expanded to include association agendas. DDG Ratso has already been acting Director for International Cooperation since Christina Russo assumed leadership of Directorate E for Prosperity in May.
As a consequence, the former Directorate I for Internal Support Services & Communication has been rebranded and is now operating as Directorate F with the same responsibilities. This rebranding retains the original structure and units.
