Technology Centre Prague is pleased to invite you to the on-line seminar for applicants on How to write a competitive proposal for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 call.

The event will be held on 24-25 June 2024 as the Module 6 of TC Prague’s event series on „How to successfully participate in Horizon Europe“.

The on-line seminar shall equip you with practical knowledge on how to tackle requirements on this type of project. The event is open to researchers who are currently preparing a MSCA PF proposal to be submitted to the 2024 call with the deadline on 11 September 2024.

AGENDA:

The seminar will comprise two parts:

  1. An information session on 24 June in the morning will provide a general introduction into the topic, incl. an overview of the rules for participation as well as award criteria and the evaluation process as such. It is open also to representatives of project support offices.
  2. On 25 June in the morning a training session where we will work with an actual project proposal will follow.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INFOSESSION (24 June):

If you wish to participate only in the infosession on 24 June, you do not need to submit any materials specified below. It is sufficient to register online.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TRAINING SESSION (25 June):

In order to participate, you must be either currently based in the Czech Republic (and preparing for a fellowship abroad) or planning to undertake your fellowship in the Czech Republic as an incoming researcher. This precondition will be checked based on your answers provided in the registration form.

Confirm your participation online until 16 June 2024 (23:59). Besides the online registration, you are requested to send the following documents (in the Word format) to javurkova@tc.cz by the same deadline:

  • your CV (5 pages);
  • abstract of the proposed project (max. 2000 characters);
  • scan of your Declaration on Confidentiality and Non-disclosure (the template thereof is attached) – This shall ensure that the information about the proposals of others which might feature during the event, is treated accordingly.

These preliminary parts of your proposal will be used for providing general feedback by an evaluator to help you better understand the expectations of experts. Individual feedback to each applicant cannot be provided due to capacity reasons.

Importantly, for the purposes of this workshop, please anonymise the materials provided to us. This precondition will allow participation of evaluators in the workshop. Anonymisation means that from your abstract and CV, the following information should not be detectable: your name, name of your supervisor, name of your host institution and the name and acronym of your proposal.

To help you grasp what the CV of a MSCA PF applicant should look like, get yourself acquainted with the instructions found in the template of the respective application form (pg. 35).

As for the abstract of your intended project, please bear in mind that it should not be formulated as a traditional scientific abstract. Instead, it should highlight the importance, impact and timeliness of the project you propose. The abstract ought to put your project into a wider context, it shall indicate your research objectives as well as ways how intend to achieve these aims. In case you succeed with your proposal, the abstract will become publicly available. Therefore, no sensitive information should be included in the text. As the abstract will be utilized when choosing the most appropriate evaluators in terms of research content, make it as clear as possible so that it is easily understandable to a wider audience.
