Joint programmes are an increasingly common feature of European higher education, supported by initiatives such as Erasmus Mundus and the European Universities alliances, yet coordinating separate national accreditation procedures for each partner institution remains a significant challenge.

This webinar, co-organised by the European University Association and the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education, will introduce the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes, a framework allowing a single evaluation or accreditation procedure, carried out by an EQAR-registered agency, to be recognised across all participating countries – removing the need to satisfy separate national criteria for each partner institution. The session is especially timely, as the European Approach is currently being adjusted alongside the ongoing of the revision of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

This webinar aims to help institutions understand and apply the European Approach by:

  • presenting the framework's core principles and how it relates to the ESG;
  • illustrating how institutions have implemented the approach in practice;
  • highlighting the upcoming revision of both the ESG and the European Approach and what it may mean for institutions engaged in joint programmes; and
  • providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions directly to experts involved in the framework's development and application.

Registration for the webinar is free of charge and open to EUA members only.
