The European Commission has launched two new calls under the “Digital, Industry and Space” cluster of the Horizon Europe Work Programme, mobilising €307.3 million to strengthen Europe’s digital innovation and technological sovereignty.

The first call, worth €221.8 million, targets the development of trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) services, innovative data solutions and technologies that reinforce EU strategic autonomy. It will support projects advancing the EU’s Apply AI Strategy, as well as work in robotics, quantum technologies, photonics and virtual worlds. Over €40 million is earmarked for the “Open Internet Stack Initiative” to develop both end‑user applications and core stack technologies underpinning European sovereign digital commons.
