This first edition is hosted by the European Commission together with the European University Institute’s Florence School of Transnational Governance.
The Forum will bring together stakeholders from across Europe to:
- discuss the value of a joint European degree label and a possible joint European degree
- celebrate the progress made so far
- reflect on the next steps towards achieving this goal.
Who will take part
The Forum will feature contributions from:
- political leaders and representatives from EU countries
- the higher education community, including academics, students and staff
- stakeholder organisations
- private sector representatives
The programme combines:
- plenary sessions with high-level speeches and panel discussions
- smaller technical discussions to examine specific challenges and solutions
Main topics
The Forum will explore:
- successful examples of joint programmes that meet the criteria for a joint European degree label
- high-level solutions to overcome remaining obstacles
- ways to attract and retain talent for the benefit of learners and society at large
- how to ensure inclusiveness and accessibility
- the next steps on the road ahead, including a Florence Pledge with commitments from all actors before the next Forum

While in-person participation is by invitation only, the plenary sessions will be streamed live on this page without any registration needed.
Technical discussions and breakout sessions will not be streamed.
