he Commission has just launched a Public Consultation and Call for Evidence on the evaluation and review of the Chips Act, inviting stakeholders to provide feedback on the current functioning of the Chips Act and on possible future adaptations to ensure that the Act remains fit for purpose in light of changing market, technological and geopolitical realities.
The Chips Act regulation foresees an evaluation and review by September 2026. In the AI Continent Action Plan, the Commission committed to accelerate preparatory work for revising the Chips Act in 2026. A proposal for a revision will be tabled in the first half of 2026. The Call for Evidence and the public consultation are part of the preparatory work.

In addition, stakeholders are invited to provide input via the public consultation survey. On the “Have your say!” portal, click “Go to consultation,” then select “Respond to the questionnaire” and complete the survey.
