The European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) has released a new paper that explains its strategic role and sets out its priorities for the future, responding to the fast changes in Europe’s research and innovation infrastructure landscape. Drawing on over twenty years of experience in coordinating research infrastructures across Europe, the paper stresses the importance of a comprehensive approach that links research, technology, data, and digital infrastructures. It outlines several main priorities for the coming years: improving strategic foresight, strengthening and streamlining the infrastructure landscape, helping shape the governance of a future EU-wide coordination framework, and increasing the impact of ESFRI’s methods and activities.
