Following the presentation of the European Commission’s proposal for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) on 16 July 2025, the European Commission has published the respective legal documents, including its Communication on the next Multiannual Financial Framework, as well as the proposed Regulation for the next Research Framework Programme ‘Horizon Europe’ (FP10) and the Specific Programme for the next Horizon Europe programme 2028-2034.
In the Communication on the next MFF, the chapter on the European Competitiveness Fund and Horizon Europe can be found on page 7 ff. The proposal for the Horizon Europe Regulation includes the proposed budget in Article 6.
As part of the next MFF 2028-2034, the Commission is proposing to double the budget of the Research and Innovation Framework Programme to €175 billion.
