On 11 July, the EU and Ukraine launch BraveTech EU initiative to accelerate defence Innovation through closer cooperation. With this joint initiative, want to create possibilities for European defence industry from Ukrainian battle-tested experience, how to do defence innovations. The initiative connects the Ministry of Digital Transformation BRAVE 1 defence tech platform with EU programmes like the European Defence Fund (EDF) and the EU Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS). It aims to boost innovation by supporting joint actions, hackathons, rapid testing, and direct collaboration between European and Ukrainian companies, especially start-ups and SMEs.
The initial activities under Brave Tech EU will be supported by the European Defence Fund up to €50 million. The EU Defence Innovation Office in Kyiv will support theimplementation of the initiative.
