The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation and representatives of Tunisia recently met at the 3rd EU–Tunisia Cooperation Committee Meeting, hosted by the Commission. The meeting served as a key platform to deepen the partnership between the European Union and Tunisia in the field of research and innovation.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in the European Innovation Council, European Research Council, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, and the Joint Research Centre. Discussions also underscored the mutual benefits of the Horizon Europe Association Agreement, highlighting access to advanced research networks, joint projects tackling global challenges, and the promotion of scientific excellence.
In Horizon 2020, Tunisia participated in 97 projects across 75 grants, securing a total of €13.2 million. This momentum continues in Horizon Europe, with 70 participations in 52 grants securing €13 million to date. This trend is expected to rise as further grants are currently in preparation
