Zaventem, Belgium, December 4, 2024 – Brussels Airport has launched Ahlex – Aviation Hub for Learning & Experience, a cutting-edge training facility designed to equip aviation professionals with futureproof skills. Spanning 4,200 m², Ahlex integrates advanced classrooms, immersive technologies, and collaborative spaces to address the sector’s evolving needs.
This transformation, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, underscores the EU’s commitment to supporting innovation, sustainability, and regional growth. EU funding played a crucial role in integrating sustainable features into the facility’s design, including solar panels, rainwater systems, and green landscaping, ensuring the project aligns with Europe’s green transition goals.
Loredana von Buttlar, representative of the European Commission, emphasized the importance of this initiative during its inauguration: “The Aviation Hub stands as a shining example of public and private funding coming together to deliver innovative solutions for the aviation sector.
