The Industry 5.0 Community of Practice plenary session, held on 16 October 2024 in Brussels, provides a platform for members to share best practices and explore future directions for achieving Industry 5.0 goals. The session brought together policymakers and stakeholders to discuss how the initiative can support the sustainable competitiveness of EU industries.
The session comprised two parts: a high-level political discussion on “The Role of Industry 5.0 in Enhancing the Long-Term Competitiveness of EU Industries,” followed by a collaborative session. In the afternoon the members brainstormed priorities for 2025, building on ideas from the final report.
The Industry 5.0 Community of Practice was launched by Directorate RTD.E in November 2023 to bridge the “connect the dots” gap, uniting Industry 5.0 pioneers and supporters from across Europe’s innovation ecosystem. Over the past 10 months, the Community has produced its first deliverables, including an analysis titled “Industry 5.0 as a Transformative Agenda for Industrial R&I” and the “Prototype Industry 5.0 Learning and Assessment Tool,” both of which were adopted and included in the final report.
