On 3 October 2024, the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Kosovo hosted the second EU-Kosovo Joint Research and Innovation Committee meeting. Mr. Arsim Ademi, Deputy Minister of MESTI, and Ms. Anne Haglund-Morrissey, Deputy Head of Unit for International Cooperation (Americas and Europe), DG Research and Innovation, co-chaired the meeting.
The key topics discussed included Kosovo’s participation in Horizon Europe, measures to stimulate further involvement, and the implementation of reforms related to research and innovation. Additionally, the committee explored opportunities for enhanced collaboration, cooperation with the Joint Research Centre, and Kosovo’s positioning in the European Innovation Scoreboard.
These initiatives hold the potential to significantly strengthen Kosovo’s research and innovation ecosystem by providing greater access to European research networks, fostering innovation, and encouraging reforms that can drive the competitiveness and scientific capabilities forward.
