Berlin-based start-up Montamo has successfully closed a €2.1 million Pre-Seed funding round led by Project A Ventures.
The company aims to accelerate the implementation of the green energy transition by addressing its biggest challenge: the lack of skilled workers.
Using a hybrid approach of specialised training centres and digital solutions, the company aims to train people from migrant backgrounds to make a career change to become skilled construction workers in the energy sector.
At the beginning of next year, experienced montamo masters and journeymen will welcome the first career changers to the Montamo training centre in Munich.
In a highly digitalised six- to eight-week course, the participants will be qualified to install heat pumps and will receive both practical and theoretical instruction.
In the future, montamo will offer installation services in the B2B sector. In the first phase, the company will focus on the installation of heat pumps, followed by solar power systems and wallboxes, among others.
