A wire that decomposes itself in the patient’s body, new approaches to cancer treatment, the development of insect killers or technologies for producing cheaper fuels by converting methane into methanol: the results of basic research that are very necessary and usable in practice. Their journey from laboratories to a specific application in medicine or industry will now be helped by funds from the Application Development and Commercialization Program of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (PREK) and also by specialists of the Technology Transfer Centre of the CAS (CeTTAV).

It is a new concept of systematic support for scientists, which will significantly facilitate the path of research results into practice. The Academy Council of the CAS approved the first ten projects that the PRAK program will help prepare for entering the commercial zone.
